LAND: The week in review Feb.26-March 5
Source: Liberty Activist News Digest

The top story this week is the untimely death of libertarian activist and former Libertarian Party Presidential Candidate, Harry Browne ... freedom lovers everywhere mourn his passing.

More sad news, medical marijuana activist Steve Kubby loses 25 pounds in three weeks ...

In expected but horrible news this week, the US Senate passed the Patriot Act extension by a disgustingly large margin, with only 4 Senators voting 'no' ... while in other news, a poll of US troops fighting in Iraq reveals that they want OUT NOW ... while the Pentagon admits Iraq's indigenous troops can't fight independently and Seven are arrested in anti-war protest (for supporting the troops, who want to come HOME.)

Getting ready for this years elections? Warren Stewart asks 'Do you know how your vote will be counted?' Worried about privacy? Business Week Online's Olga Khariff gives some privacy tips in 'Big Brother is reading your blog'. Several good First Amendment commentaries this week, Free speech quagmire, and Celebrity castigations. And in the wake of the South Dakota abortion ban, don't miss Linda Circione's 'An open letter to all right-to-life proponents'.

In actions this week, please take a moment to help out a fellow 2AM activist ... Angel Shamaya, founder of KeepAndBearArms.com is in jail in Michigan, having been arrested for possession of firearms not properly registered under Michigan law ... he needs letters of support immediately!

This week's edition marks the 52d weekly edition of LAND ... we start year 2 with next week's edition. Thanks to everyone who has supported us for the past year, your donations, comments and words of support have helped keep LAND online.

Til next week

For freedom!

Mary Lou
