LAND: The week in review April 23-29
Liberty Action News Digest

Anti-war protests this weekend draw tens of thousands in the Big Apple, while immigrant activists prepare for May Day actions on Monday and protestors in Nepal topple the gov't and force the King to 'deal' ... a Judge in New York aquits the 'Granny Peace Brigade' and 'graying peaceniks' in Florida find themselves on the Pentagon's 'credible threat list' ... teenagers sue Rumsfield over the recruiting database as the FBI probes classified data leaks ... Congress readies broad new copyright bill as a new coalition vows to "save the Internet" ... a wide coalition in NH rallies to oppose NH's participation in NID as RFID advocates admit that the 'political climate' is 'unfriendly' to the spy chips ... and the VA nurse accused of sedition 'beats the rap'.

Commentaries this week include eulogies for Jane Jacobs, Canadian land use activist who defied ideological 'labeling' and was an activist to the end; The case of the Cuban Five; the latest 'Battle' in New Orleans; several commentaries on the war and activism; using the IRS to quell 'unpopular activism'.

Today marks the end of the annual TV Turnoff Week, if you didn't get to participate this year, check out their website for other activities ... and don't forget to check how you made out in the 2nd annual TCF Combat Rifle Postal Match (targets were due yesterday.)

Til next week
